Happy New Birthday Year!

It's a time to celebrate!  It's a time of reflection!  It's time to create!!  And over at CSI, we are celebrating and creating like you wouldn't believe!!  We'll be adding new twists to our Case Files, each week we'll be celebrating our ONE Year Birthday with something new!  So be sure to check in and check us out!

This month we are so excited to have Pink Paislee as our sponsor!!  I'm actually very jealous, as I love their product so much and I'm not eligible for the prize package at the end of the month.  BUT YOU ARE!  All members who upload their layouts for January's Case Files and follow the criteria are entered into a random drawing.  So, you get to scrapbook, be creative, receive gallery luv from the DT's and fellow members AND to top it off you could win something???  What's stopping YOU? :D  And if that's not enough incentive, you still have two more chances to win something fabulous from our full time sponsors,  Flying Unicorn and Scrapbook Fantasies!

This weeks case file has some scrumptious colors and prompts!

My evidence includes the following:

Flowers:  I chose to make poinsettia flowers with my Tim Holtz Sizzix Dies.. (l luv them!) I pulled out papers from Carte Belle - Beautiful Memories, Fancy Pants - Winter Wonderland and some light blue cardstock.
Metal: I pulled metal embellishments out, some I tinkered with, others I left alone.  I also took some DA fencing that I coated with gold/bronze metal embossing powder to create the look of metal.
Pleating: This was accomplished with a simple pre-pleated paper from Bazzil.  (Stash is GOOD)
Texture Paste:  This is very subtle.  My poinsettia's where too bright.  so I coated them with plain white texture paste. While wet I spritzed on some glimmer mists and some Perfect Pearls.  Once dry, I inked and then coated with crackle medium.  I kept up with the layers of inks, texture and glitter until I achieved the desired look. On one set, I used a product by Stampendous called Fran-tage Shabby Chic Embossing Powder.  It's chunky, multicolored and mixed with ultra fine glitter.
Embossed Paper: I ran my paper thru my Cuttlebug embossing folder and then hit it up with dry perfect pearls, glitter mist. and some dry brush paint.
Fabric:  I took some Hug Snug binding ribbon died it with my Tattered Angels "Fall Breeze" glimmer mists.  Then while still wet, I rolled it around the extra embossing powders and heat set everything.  This technique I picked up from one of Tammy Tutterow blog Tutorial's.  (the woman is genius!)  I also created a tag from some scrap fabric.

My testimony is short and sweet.  We had a our last snow fall on Christmas Day here in Texas.  It was such a nice day, family close, kids quiet and content and it was like a blanket of peacefulness had covered our home.  The prior couple of weeks had been stressful and nerve wracking for all of us, so this was a nice lull.  And a most appreciated moment to look back and reflect.

Happy New Year everyone,  be safe, remember you are loved and be grateful for the small things.. they add up to big things.  Thank you for visiting and please feel free to share the luv.
