Wow Wedensday

It's WOW Wednesday over at Cat's  blog.  I thought I'd share some of my "homework" from my last tag class I took out at Cat's.  We've been working on the 12 Tags of Christmas using Techniques by Tim Holtz and the wonderful Nanci has been our teacher!  IT's been a wonderful time.  I wish I could be there for the last class, on Thursday, November 15th... but if YOU can.. call Cat and reserve your spot!!!

My tag was created using an old Sizzix embossing folder, my TH Distress Pads in Iced Spruce, Crushed Olive, Bundled Sage, Walnut and Vintage Photo inks.  I covered the entire tag with Crackle accents and lightly scrapped the surface so the crackle remained in the recessed areas.   I then stamped my image by Stampendous " Jumbo Cardinals" (found at my FAVORITE LSS) and colored them with my TH markers and water pens.  I stamped the image again and colored just the leaves and fussy cut a bunch of the leaves.  I glued the leaves so they had dimension .  Once it dried, I added some Glossy Accents and sprinkled Diamond Dust into the wet medium.  I was shooting for the frost on the branches effect.  Once it dried I added some Diamond Dust Stickles and created berry's with red stickles.

My ribbon is seam binding that I colored with Distress Ink, Distress Stain and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. But then I applied a new technique I learned from Tammy Tutterow .  It basically involves embossing powder and heat embossing techniques BUT beware rayon fabrics will melt with too much heat.  I added some metals from TH and called it done.
