I've entered my first online contest today. It's at my new favorite website, PageMaps.com. The challenge was to use their page map with the theme, "What is on your mind?" It's hosted by My Mind's Eye, so it's so appropriate! This is what I came up with. I used a piece of Hot Pink Flower/Bohemia by My Mind's Eye (I honestly did not plan that, but been hoarding this beautiful paper for about a year..), the rub-ons are American Crafts (a gift from df Staci), stencils by Colorbok, using the pouncing technique with a ColorBox Chalk Ink pad. On the bird, I came back with Stickles in gunmetal grey (can't really tell on the internet, but it's sparkley!) my cardstock is Die Cuts with a View Fall Stacks and some cream ribbon from Hobby Lobby that was gathered and stuck with Terriffically Tacky Tape. And I used a sewing pattern transfer tool for the little "stitches", accentuated with Stampin' Up's Stampin' Write Marker.
The photo is my grandmother, Doris Strong. She was a fabulous woman despite her downfalls. I just remember her being super creative and crafty. We lost her when I was 9 so I never got to know her, so every once in a while, she crosses my mind. I like to think she passed her creativity down, my mom is creative and now me..... so that's what is on my mind....
