To Oz and back...

We have survived..Erin has been to practices, dress rehersals and the actual performances of The Wizard of Oz. I think it's been a great experience, not only for her but for me too. We've met some great teens while working on Oz. They worked hard to pull this production together and the kids really toughed it out. While the teens got to roam about and have actual duties to perform, the kids had to sit in a room and wait for their cue. Once done, they came back to the same room and waited for the final bow. But the munchkin moms and Mr. Duke kept the kids occupied and quiet.
Erin was great, she had to stay in the music room, separated from the munchkins while she waited. Her costume was very warm and we needed to keep her and her fellow monkey's cool. Plus I was doing monkey makeup. Before I knew it, monkey makeup turned into lion makeup, then I was doing "foosh, foosh" as the teens called it (blush and eyeliner) and next thing I know, I'm being called "Monkey Mom" by the kids. (Or just mom, and that was okay)
For all our family that travelled to see Erin, thank you. For everyone local who supported Erin, thank you. For those of you that missed the play...man you MISSED the play.... To all you SHS kids I met, you're good kids, and I enjoyed being part of your play.

Grandma Betsy had a great time and is SO proud of you, Erin! She thought you all did a fantastic job, and she learned a lot being backstage!

I am soooo glad we came to see the play. Little O is still talking about it, but then he never stops talking anyway.... We looked at the pictures together and remembered the play. Thanks for including us. We wouldn't have missed it.
