It's Another Day!
Yep, it's been 24 hours and no one has been mamed (is that right?), dismembered, died or bleeding. Taylor is settling in okay so far. The girls have a little more adjusting too. Having a drama queen and "stitch" room together is very much like mixing oil and water, but much more volitile.
In order to feel like life is orderly, I've been making my lists again. Dry wipe boards, calendars and note pads all piling up again. Paperwork to collect, numbers to call, chores and lists for the kids. All futile perhaps, but I feel better!!
I've been getting lots of wonderful positive feedback from everyone (thank you by the way) and I've been hearing "Wow, your family is getting bigger!" and in more ways than one babe! Families that ties were once cut, all of a sudden here they are! And while we ALL have our highs and lows, negatives and positives, I probably haven't given credit for all the positives I've received. (credit noted here....) When one is divorced, all you hear is negatives, divorce is not exactly a fun thing. How ever there where a lot of good times too. One thing I took away from that experience is some advice from my in-laws..."communication is crucial". I "get it" now. And communication IS crucial to my relationship with David and the kids now. I also learned that it's okay to be ME. I think I tried for a long time to be something I wasn't in order to please and fit in. My phylosophy now, "Like me, or not; but I'm not losing any sleep if you don't. "
Taylor will be doing a LOT of communicating here in the future. He's being introduced to a personal journal to help sort his emotions. We'll be communicating with new doctors and teachers. He'll be communicating with his family abroad, father, grandparents, aunts & uncles. He'll be learning to communicate with his siblings. All are invited here to see how this "Brady Bunch" family unit is evolving and growing. (Brady Bunch now who's smoking crack?) Not everyday will be a post on Taylor but gee I always manage to sneak my kids in somewhere.
So, Grandparents, Uncles, Greats, Parents....welcome into this chaos we call life. Feel free to comment, be prepared, everyone can see the comments! Share...The links off to the side are my dear fabulous girlfriends and their blogs. They keep me sane and help me be a better person. Other links are favorite sites, shopping and etc., etc., etc. (Erin & I watched the King & I recently, LOVE that movie) Enough rambling..I have 5 children to take to the pool and prevent from drowning, but I may dunk them!
