Wanderings

It's the second week of February over at CSI and that means a NEW SKETCH is available with our case file.  Having Page Drafts as a our sketch designer is pretty cool! I know it really pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me think.

This weeks casefile had some scrumptious colors and some wonderful "evidence" to  work with!  For complete details, click HERE and join us!

My "Evidence" includes:

Wood:  Birch wood veneer by Creative Imaginations
Metal: Metal inspiration tags by Tim Holtz and some retired metal tags by Making Memories
Twine
Fabric:  A stray piece of muslin spritzed and sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists "Sea Glass"
Create a jagged Edge:  I tore and distressed the paper edges and instead of using scissors, I tore the muslin
Lacing
Clouds:  Some more of those fabby chippy clouds.  One covered in tissue tape and the other in Distress Stain
Eyelets

My journaling is on two manilla tags.  The one in the lower left corner is attached to a chipboard cloud.

"Summertime in Texas seems
to drag on forever.  We spend
days inside escaping the heat.
Sometimes you just gotta
get out, waste a tank of gas,
grab a map and a camera.
Sarah chose our destination
this day.  WEST to the 'Fans
in the Sky'.  The wind farms
out near Possum Kingdom."

The second tag is in the upper right corner and is also attached to a chipboard cloud.

"So the kids grabbed their cameras
and we head out.  Sarah shouts,
'Stop HERE!'
We climb out and photograph
away!"

I love the fact that my girls are beginning to enjoy the thrill of photography.  I enjoy getting lost on the back roads, exploring where I live.  Either, close to home or miles away.  Erin and Taylor appreciate those "Historical Marker" signs dotted along highways and stopping to read the history that happened on that sight.  It was proven useful last year when Erin had to create a Texas History Board Game for her social study class.  WHO had cool pictures and stories... WE DID!  It's getting to be that time of year again, spring break is next month...it feels like it's time to grab the cameras and hit the road!  :D

Love the story behind your page Shaunery and the need to get out, having been cooped up inside for weeks because of the heat. Lovely you have the next generation so interested in photography too :)
