On the Road Again

It's January 3rd and I was awoken with a kiss..a goodbye kiss from my dear hubby. He had considered waking and having breakfast with the kids but Erin gets so emotional that it tears him up. So, at O'dark hundred he fired up the truck and rolled out. By 9:30 he was almost to Texarkansas and around 12:30 he was 45 miles out of Memphis. Without the trailer and good tail winds, he's making great time.
While David was here we had a fabulous time. I was able to do last minute Christmas shopping, day after Christmas Sale shopping, enjoyed a movie with a good friend and more shopping on New Years Day. David took the older kids to see National Treasure and small errands with all three in tow. But most of the time, he stayed at home enjoying his kids.
We took down Christmas together, he fixed my garbage disposal and we assembled new beds for the girls. He was amazed at the number of dishes we dirty in a day...(Hello family of FIVE!)
Even though it was a short visit, I so appreciate having a life partner like David. I can't imagine being a single parent of three, yeah okay I can do it, but having someone to share EVERYTHING with is sooooo much better.
Today we spent getting back to our temporary "normal" and I mentally am gearing myself up for January and February. The Wizard of Oz is going to keep us busy until Feb 7-10th, with rehearsals and the final four performances. And Taylor turns 14 on the 10th!! Deep breath, slowly exhale...aaaoooommmmm...

You two are hilarious. Miss reading your blog, but I am so tickled that we went to see the movie together. Of course next time I will be sure and read about the movie before heading out. I still liked it. And you were so funny with your eyes covered.

1400 miles and better than 22 MPG in my 3/4ton truck. I'm happy... Pulling the RV home got me 13 and some change MPG, I'm still happy. This trip had no tire issues.

The kids were a blast and I considered going UA and staying there in Texas, but with less than 11 months to go only a crazy man would do somthing like that.

Miss you four

Love David
