Navy Takes Care of Their Own

"The Navy Takes Care of Their Own", something I began to hear after I moved to Texas and even more often when David & I moved to Maine. I thought, "How nice, shipmates taking care of each other." Little did I know or realize that it also meant their families. When our spouses were on detachment or overseas, we left behind, took care of each other. If my girlfriends husband was away, David helped with "Honey Do's", shoveling snow or mowing lawns..
Now we're in Texas and we live 25 miles from the base. I don't exactly have a lot of military family in close proximity. (I DO have great girlfriends tho') So, when I run into a fellow military family, we seem to click a little quicker. We relate to each other's experiences and have a better understanding. When our van started acting up, Tom was great, he came over poked under the hood and gave advice. We learned I needed new plugs and wires and he was kind enough to help. Then my girlfriend Jane learned of my predictement and was "Let Remy help, he just did our plugs and wires!" I was like, "Do you wanna check with him first?" and her response was "No, he'll help!" Tom was cut loose and yesterday, Remy showed me how to replace my plugs and wires and we were done in about an hour. REMY ROCKS and I'm soooooo happy. Navy took care of their own.....
